From 1986 to March 2009: Newspaper-editor. Last 21 years for one company ('Dithmarscher Landeszeitung' in Heide), a rural district-newspaper with circulation of around 27 000 issues. Last seven years responsible for reporting of all aspects of the district capital section of the daily newspaper. My responsibilities included the entire spectrum of local newspaper work.
Now: Freelance photographer and journalist. I have decided focus more on photography and to find new challenges in New Zealand.
Living in New Zealand on my sister's farm near Te Kauwhata/Hamilton.
Hobby-musician (guitar, harmonica, vocals).
January 2009: 'Summer School of the Arts' in Wanganui: One week bluesharmonica course with Master of Harp Brendan Power (England/New Zealand).
1980/81: Eleven months journey through Western Europe, Israel and Egypt
1996: Bosnia (visit to the German troops / reports and photos for the newspaper)
1996: Documentary about the work of the German Red Cross in Kaliningrad/Russia (photos and report for the newspaper)
1997: New York, Washington, Philadelphia (report with photos about the "Steubenparade" - military music parade)
Since 1998: 14 visits to New Zealand with visits for some days in Los Angeles, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia (Perth, Brisbane, Townsville)
